Children spend many hours indoors, be that in the classroom, at home or using technological devices. Distractions from the environment flood their daily reality. They often lack sensory experiences in a natural environment. A therapy garden fills this void. Emotional Therapy in natural surroundings is especially beneficial to children and enables them to attain their therapy goals by enabling positive experiences in a range of areas: cognitive, emotional and sensory motor.
A therapy garden was established on the roof of Arugot’s main building. It offers a range of options in a therapeutic “green space” used by emotional therapists and occupational therapists with children. The initial financial outlay was close to NIS 400,000. In order to enhance therapies additional equipment is needed.
